Easter and Eleanor’s 4th Birthday

What an eventful couple of weeks we’ve had! After being visited by the Easter Bunny last Sunday, Eleanor’s birthday (last Wednesday) was followed by a party on Saturday and Disney on Ice last night. It seems like we’ve been in a whirlwind of celebration. Eleanor and June were both thrilled by all the friends/treats/attention/princess toys. And Jeff and I are thrilled to have survived…haha, just kidding. But no, really. There are a lot of princess toys.

Eleanor’s party was graciously photographed by Miss Tasha Teague, who came all the way from Savannah to celebrate with us. It was so great to have her with us!

I’m really sorry that I haven’t been keeping up with the blog. Just trying to hang in there. Things are nuts. Nothing new to us really! I think that someone in our house has been sick every week since the new year … but right now every one of us is healthy (hallelujah!) and so here I am, posting photos of these beautiful girls who are growing so unbearably fast. What a sweet couple! It’s Daddy-Daughter date night, Jeff is taking Eleanor to the ballet — it’s becoming an annual tradition. She’s been looking forward to it all year, I can’t wait to hear her tell me all about it!

First Self Portrait

Eleanor’s drawing skills seem to have skyrocketed over night — this morning I was positively shocked to watch her whip up this drawing and announce “this is me” in no time flat. As far as I know, this is a first. Look at that smile!! I’m so glad she sees herself as such a happy person.

Small moves.

Jeff and I moved our bedroom to the former office this weekend. We knew we’d be doing it someday to make room for another kid, and the prospect of a better view was enticing enough for us to tackle it now. However, our old bed frame did not fit in the room! Instead of canceling the move, we opted to go sans-bed frame and sleep on the floor. The relaxed and cozy nest has been a surprisingly happy accident. Now June can climb on and off without falling, and Eleanor loves to jump as high as she wants without the cieling fan interfering. I highly recommend it to families with little ones!
