She is so beautiful and absolutely perfect. Birth story coming soon — although it will be a lot shorter than Eleanor’s birth story. Only 3 hours to rehash !!

Out Sick.

Since Saturday night, we’ve all been knocked flat by a bad cold. Bleh! Jeff even took today off. It’s been nice having some unapologetically lazy times, but I’m over it and ready to feel good again.

In other news, I’ve been suddenly struck by the nesting instinct again. This kicked in around 13 weeks and I went crazy on the outside of our house — fixing up the front entry and planting a lot in the garden in front & out back. I just didn’t want to do ANYTHING inside which was a little worrisome because that’s where all the really important work needed to be done — namely, organizing Eleanor & new babe’s room and figuring out how we’re going to fit everything in there. So, now, after a break between 16 and 22 weeks, I’m ready to go again. It’s crazy messy in there, which is fine for Eleanor but when there’s a new baby in there it won’t be so good. There’s much more baby stuff we need to squeeze in there, and a little person who likes to cram things in her mouth, and I’ll be walking in there for midnight feedings…yes, there’s some motivation for me. Accidentally stepping on a baby block is really unpleasant. This I know.

I need two pieces of furniture: a little bookcase and a dresser that can fit into the closet. I’m thinking about these from target:

The bookcase is for both books and toys, so I think this one would offer some flexibility. Plus, it has three short shelves, which is better for her books as most of them are little. And it would be nice to have a little place to put a lamp, since Eleanor is starting to want to read a bit after we tuck her in.

Mystery illness solved

Yesterday, a crop of spots showed up on Eleanor’s torso and neck, evidence that the fever she had over the weekend was Roseola. A totally common and relatively harmless virus. No worries now, she’s as right as rain!

A blog is born…

…for my new business, Little Hipster. After a lot of planning, scheming, and sewing, Little Hipster is coming to life!

I typically would opt for the simplicity of having only one blog to update, but I decided to create a new one so that I could keep business stuff off of The Frisco Kid. I hope you’ll stop by and see my new blog and maybe forward it to friends that might be interested in organic baby slings!

Eleanor on Ohdeedoh!

This is Eleanor’s birthday shout-out on Ohdeedoh, my favorite kid+design blog.

2nd Newsflash: Jeff is a triathlete. Officially.

In the weekend of his 31st birthday, Jeff completed the BFAST sprint tri in 1 hours and 22 minutes. His very first one! Eleanor and I arrived just in time to see him jet across the finish line, guns a blazin’. Yay!

Newsflash:

We put an offer on a house today. We found it yesterday, Jeff’s birthday. It’s no palace, but I can certainly be proud of it. We are just as suprised as you may be. Everything is happening so fast, but it’s definitely God’s timing.

It’s the perfect place for Eleanor. More to come soon!

Birthday Movie

Finally, a birthday movie. It’s looong for the grandparents xxo enjoy!

Also: Eleanor is officially walking! After a few weeks of toddling here and there and then preferring to crawl, she now takes off walking all on her own and seems to prefer it to crawling most of the time.

And, some bad news…Eleanor’s had a fever for the last couple of days and her pediatrician doesn’t know what’s wrong with her. (She got up to 102.9 yesterday so I took her into the doctor’s office). He said most likely it was a viral infection and we should keep an eye on her temp and behavior and let them know if there’s any sudden changes. She seems to just be feeling poorly and a bit more clingly/less energetic than usual. She’s not got a cold or allergies bothering her, no urinary tract problems, no red throat …. who knows?? I hope it goes away soon.

Phone Alert!

Yesterday morning I found my phone in the bottom of Noah’s (quite full) water bowl. Not sure how this happened, and a dead phone tells no tales. I gave it a day to dry out, but to no avail. So, my phone is totally incapacitated. If you’re trying to get in touch with me, call Jeff. Or email me. Or leave a comment on here.
